The Trenton BXT7059 is a high-performance, dual-processor PICMG 1.3 System Host Board (SHB) designed for demanding industrial, military, imaging, simulation and high-performance embedded computing applications. The board supports Intel Xeon E5-2400 and E5-2400 v2 Series processors using dual LGA1356 processor sockets.
Built around the Intel C604 Platform Controller Hub, the BXT7059 provides server-class processing capability together with DDR3 memory, PCI Express Gen3 expansion, SAS/SATA storage, Gigabit Ethernet and integrated graphics. Its PICMG 1.3 architecture allows the processor board to interface with compatible PCI Express backplanes for systems requiring substantial expansion capability.
The Trenton BXT7059 supports two Intel Xeon E5-2400 or E5-2400 v2 Series processors. The dual-processor architecture uses Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) for processor-to-processor communication and resource sharing, providing substantial computing capability for multi-threaded and processing-intensive industrial applications.
Six DDR3 DIMM sockets are organized across three memory channels for each processor. The platform supports DDR3-1600, DDR3-1333, DDR3-1066 and DDR3-800 memory speeds depending on the installed processor and memory configuration. ECC Registered memory support makes the platform suitable for systems where memory reliability is important.
The BXT7059 provides PCI Express connectivity through the PICMG 1.3 edge connectors and automatically adapts to compatible server-class or graphics-class backplane configurations. Processor-based PCI Express links can operate at PCIe Gen3, Gen2 or Gen1.1 speeds depending on the processor, backplane and installed expansion devices.
An optional Trenton PEX10 expansion module can provide additional PCI Express Gen3 connectivity for compatible backplanes requiring additional high-bandwidth expansion links.
The BXT7059 provides two SATA III 6 Gb/s interfaces together with four SAS/SATA II 3 Gb/s interfaces and RAID support. Two front-panel Gigabit Ethernet ports are provided through an Intel network controller, with an additional Gigabit Ethernet interface available through the PICMG 1.3 backplane interface.
The board also provides eight USB 2.0 interfaces and XGI Volari Z11M embedded graphics with support for display resolutions up to 1920 x 1200.
The Trenton BXT7059 is suitable for industrial automation, military computing, simulation systems, machine vision, image processing, test and measurement equipment, data acquisition, GPU and PCI Express expansion systems, semiconductor equipment and other high-performance embedded computing applications.
When replacing a Trenton BXT7059, verify the complete Trenton part number, processor configuration, memory configuration and backplane requirements. BXT7059 systems may use different Intel Xeon E5-2400 or E5-2400 v2 processors, and processor generation can affect memory speed, PCI Express capability, BIOS requirements and system configuration.
Embedded CPU Boards supports the Trenton BXT7059 for sourcing, replacement, repair and legacy-system support. Availability may include new-old-stock, surplus, refurbished or professionally tested units depending on current inventory.
