The Kontron KTQ45/ATXE 810340-4500 is a long-life industrial Embedded-ATX motherboard based on the Intel Q45 Express chipset with ICH10DO. Designed for industrial and embedded computing applications, the board supports selected Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad desktop processors using the LGA775 socket.
The KTQ45/ATXE combines DDR3 memory, Intel GMA 4500 integrated graphics, PCI Express and legacy PCI expansion, dual Intel Gigabit Ethernet, SATA RAID, USB 2.0, RS-232/RS-485, HD Audio and Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) 5.0.
The Kontron KTQ45/ATXE uses the LGA775 processor socket and supports selected Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors from the Wolfdale and Yorkfield families. Supported front-side bus speeds include 800, 1066 and 1333 MHz.
Representative supported processors include the Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 and E8400 and Core 2 Quad Q9400. Processor compatibility should be verified against the specific BIOS revision when servicing an existing industrial system.
Four 240-pin DIMM sockets provide dual-channel DDR3 memory support. The platform supports DDR3-800 and DDR3-1066 memory. ECC memory is not supported.
The KTQ45/ATXE provides one PCI Express x16 Gen2 slot for high-bandwidth expansion together with one PCI Express x4 electrical interface using an x16 mechanical connector.
Four conventional PCI slots provide compatibility with legacy industrial expansion cards. This combination makes the KTQ45/ATXE particularly useful for systems that require newer PCI Express devices while retaining specialized PCI data acquisition, communications, machine-control or other proprietary cards.
The Intel Q45 chipset incorporates Intel GMA 4500 graphics with analog CRT output supporting resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 at 75 Hz. Digital display options including DVI, LVDS and HDMI can be provided through compatible SDVO/ADD2 expansion hardware.
Two Intel Gigabit Ethernet interfaces provide network connectivity for industrial and embedded applications. One Ethernet interface supports Intel Active Management Technology 5.0, providing remote management capabilities in compatible system configurations.
Five SATA 150/300 interfaces provide storage connectivity with RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10 support. This allows the board to support both conventional industrial storage configurations and applications requiring drive redundancy.
The KTQ45/ATXE provides three RS-232 serial interfaces together with one RS-485 interface. Additional connectivity includes twelve USB 2.0 ports, a configurable parallel interface, PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectivity and 7.1-channel High Definition Audio.
The Kontron KTQ45/ATXE is suitable for industrial automation, machine control, manufacturing equipment, test and measurement systems, industrial imaging, data acquisition, medical equipment and other long-life embedded systems requiring PCI Express together with legacy PCI expansion.
The KTQ45/ATXE should not be confused with the KTQ45/FLEX. The ATXE version uses the larger Embedded-ATX form factor and provides four PCI slots, three RS-232 interfaces and one RS-485 interface. The KTQ45/FLEX provides two PCI slots and two RS-232 interfaces without the ATXE's dedicated RS-485 interface.
When replacing a Kontron KTQ45/ATXE 810340-4500, verify the complete part number, hardware revision, processor, DDR3 memory, BIOS version, installed PCI/PCI Express cards and serial-interface requirements.
For validated industrial systems, matching the original motherboard configuration and BIOS environment is recommended, particularly where specialized PCI expansion cards or legacy operating systems are used.
Embedded CPU Boards supports the Kontron KTQ45/ATXE 810340-4500 for sourcing, replacement, repair, testing and legacy-system lifecycle support. Availability may include new-old-stock, surplus, refurbished or professionally tested units depending on current inventory.
