Full Size PICMG 1.0 CPU Board
The Portwell ROBO-8777VG2A is a full-size PICMG 1.0 PCI/ISA embedded CPU board designed for industrial and legacy embedded computing systems. Based on the Intel Q965 and ICH8 chipset, the board supports LGA775 Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D processors with 1066/800/533MHz front-side bus options.
The ROBO-8777VG2A combines up to 4GB DDR2 memory, Intel GMA 3000 integrated graphics, dual Gigabit Ethernet, four SATA 300 interfaces, six USB 2.0 ports, serial and parallel connectivity, GPIO and ISA expansion in a full-size 338.5 x 122mm PICMG 1.0 SBC.
The Portwell ROBO-8777VG2A provides an LGA775 processor socket supporting Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D processors.
Supported processor configurations operate with 1066MHz, 800MHz or 533MHz front-side bus speeds depending on the installed processor. Portwell specifically designed the platform to support lower-power Intel Core 2 Duo processors with up to 65W TDP.
The ROBO-8777VG2A is based on the Intel Q965 Graphics and Memory Controller Hub combined with the Intel ICH8 I/O Controller Hub.
This platform provides DDR2 memory support, integrated graphics, SATA storage, USB connectivity and the PCI/ISA architecture required by legacy industrial systems.
Two 240-pin DIMM sockets support up to 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM. The board supports DDR2-800, DDR2-667 and DDR2-533 non-ECC, unbuffered memory.
The memory subsystem supports dual-channel operation when compatible memory modules are installed.
The Intel Q965 chipset incorporates Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000 graphics. The integrated graphics controller uses shared system memory and provides VGA output for industrial displays and system diagnostics.
The CRT interface supports resolutions up to 2048 x 1536.
The ROBO-8777VG2A provides two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces using Realtek RTL8111B PCI Express Ethernet controllers.
Dual RJ-45 interfaces provide 10/100/1000Base-T network connectivity for industrial automation, machine control, data acquisition and embedded computing systems.
Four SATA 300 interfaces provide storage connectivity for compatible SATA hard drives and solid-state drives. The board does not provide a conventional EIDE interface.
The ROBO-8777VG2A provides six USB 2.0 interfaces together with two serial ports. COM1 supports RS-232 while COM2 can be configured for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 operation.
Additional legacy I/O includes a parallel interface, floppy interface, PS/2 keyboard/mouse connectivity and programmable GPIO.
The Portwell ROBO-8777VG2A follows the PICMG 1.0 PCI/ISA single-board-computer architecture and is designed for installation in compatible passive backplanes.
The board supports conventional PCI and ISA expansion, making it particularly useful as a replacement processor board in industrial systems that must retain legacy PCI and ISA option cards.
The VG2A designation identifies the standard ROBO-8777 configuration with VGA, dual Gigabit Ethernet, audio and USB connectivity.
When replacing an existing ROBO-8777VG2A, verify the installed processor, memory configuration, PCB revision, BIOS revision, passive backplane and application-specific I/O requirements.
The Portwell ROBO-8777VG2A is suitable for industrial automation, machine control, semiconductor equipment, test and measurement systems, medical equipment, manufacturing systems and other embedded applications requiring a full-size PICMG 1.0 processor board with PCI and ISA compatibility.
Embedded CPU Boards supports the Portwell ROBO-8777VG2A for sourcing, replacement, repair, testing and legacy-system lifecycle support. Availability may include new-old-stock, surplus, refurbished or professionally tested units depending on current inventory.
